Can I access books outside of Carlsbad?
I used to live in Michigan and libraries participated in Co-Ops where I could search for books outside of my local library and have them sent to me at my local library...
Answer
The Carlsbad City Library is not part of a library co-op, but we do offer an Inter Library Loan service. This service allows patrons to request books that are not available from the Carlsbad City Library. The service costs $6.00 per item. You can either come into the library and fill out a form or you can call us; you must have a library card with the Carlsbad City Library to request an Interlibrary Loan.
We also participate in LINK+ (Link Plus) is a free service that allows cardholders to borrow items not available at Carlsbad City Library, providing access to millions of additional titles from over 70 participating libraries in California and Nevada.
