How can I become a member of the Carlsbad City Library?

You may obtain a library account with the Carlsbad City Library by filling out a library card application. You don't have to be a resident of Carlsbad. We have an online application at https://cbcl.sdp.sirsi.net/client/en_US/home/search/registration/$N/SYMWS/true?
After completing the online application, you'll receive a temporary card number which will give you access to our eResources. The temporary library card is valid for 14 days only. You will need to bring a government-issued photo ID and proof of your current address to get a permanent library card.
