How do I tell if purchase requests are on order or not?
Answer
Hello,
You may login to your library account and check your pending Purchase Requests.

Many requests if published in the past year are honored. However, if an item requested is not purchased by the library, you will receive a mail notification advising you on alternate ways to get the item. If the library purchases the item, you will be placed in the holds queue. Please keep in mind others may have requested the item prior to your request and they will be placed ahead of you in the queue. Also, from request to purchase to the library physically owning the item is a process and can take up to 10 weeks. Some specialty items, such as independent publishers/producers, can take longer.
Items that are no longer in print/available and generally books over a year old are not considered viable for purchase. We offer inter-library loan service for those materials.
If you have further questions or need assistance in making a purchase request, please phone us at (442) 339-2038/2871.
Thank you,
