What are JobNow and VetNow?

Answer

Hello,

JobNow / VetNow offers live online help with the job search and application process everyday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., and live help with navigating the Veterans Administration benefit process, from 2-10 p.m. Monday-Friday. Live help with filing for state Unemployment Assistance is available Monday-Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This electronic resource is provided by Brainfuse, courtesy of the California State Library. You can find it in the College & eLearning section of our eResources page.

This resource also offers an Adult Learning module, and several features useful for all ages. Students can meet in an online classroom environment for study sessions, find flashcards on many topics or create your own, and create short instructional videos. For core subjects (Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies), extensive learning modules, exams and live help are available in grades 3 - College level.

For individuals looking to choose or change a career, the eParachute module will help you assess your talents and interests, and match you with careers where they'll give you an advantage. Developed with the team behind the book What Color is Your Parachute?

You'll need your Carlsbad City Library card to access this resource. Nothing more is required to utilize the live JobNow or VetNow sessions, but you'll be prompted to create a free Brainfuse account for other features, like the dropoff resume review or set up peer-to-peer study sessions in the online classroom.
