Why did I get a notification to download my ebook when I'm #6 on the list?
Answer
Hello,
Because someone let you go ahead of them in line, so you can download your eBook or eAudiobook now.
Normally, the person at the front of the line is notified to check out their copy when it becomes available. OverDrive has a feature where patrons can postpone checking out their available hold while maintaining their place at the front of the line. If people in line ahead of you ask the system to "Deliver Later", you may get the opportunity to borrow your requested eBook or eAudiobook before you reach the front of the line.
This also works if you're not ready for an ebook or eaudiobook when you're notified it's ready to borrow. You can have it re-delivered later and let the next person in line check it out today. The "Deliver Later" feature can be accessed through the Serra Digital Download Library website and the Libby or OverDrive apps. It is not visible in the current edition of our main catalog's My Account area. For more information, read OverDrive's article Managing Available Holds with Deliver Later
